The police have registered an FIR against several establishments on MG Road, including One8 Commune-Bengaluru, a café co-owned by cricketer Virat Kohli, for operating beyond the allowed time. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central stated that these pubs were found open until 1:30 am, exceeding the permitted closing time of 1 am. This action was taken following multiple complaints about loud music being played late at night. One8 Commune, located near M Chinnaswamy Stadium, was among those booked for these violations. The Bengaluru branch, launched in December 2023, is part of a chain with locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata. A police officer mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and further actions will be taken as necessary. The café's prime location on the 6th floor of Ratnam’s Complex on Kasturba Road offers scenic views of the cricket stadium, making it a popular spot. Despite the recent legal issues, the chain is well-regarded in metro cities across India. The case highlights the importance of adhering to local regulations and maintaining neighbourhood peace. The authorities are taking the necessary steps to ensure compliance and address residents' concerns.
